  • 1 fresh pineapple peeled, cordé, and sliced into rings
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup sparkling water or regular water
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp cinnamon optional
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar or honey for serving

  • Prepare the Batter:
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cinnamon.
  • Gradually add sparkling water and vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
  • Heat the Oil:
  • Heat about 1½ inches of oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  • Coat And Fry:
  • Dip each pineapple ring into the batter, shaking off excess.
  • Carefully place in hot oil and fry for 1-2 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  • Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel.
  • Serve And Enjoy:
  • Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with honey, or serve with ice cream!

Notes
