- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- For the Pasta And Sauce:
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 cups marinara sauce store-bought or homemade
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes, undrained
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for heat
- 8 oz penne or rigatoni pasta
- ½ cup heavy cream optional, for a creamy version
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- For Garnish:
- ¼ cup fresh basil or parsley chopped
- Extra Parmesan cheese for topping

Cook the Chicken:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season chicken pieces with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
Add chicken to the skillet and cook until golden brown on all sides (5-6 minutes). Remove and set aside.
Sauté Garlic And Start the Sauce:
In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, chicken broth, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
Cook the Pasta:
Add uncooked pasta directly into the skillet, stirring to coat.
Cover and let simmer over medium-low heat for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
Combine Everything:
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir.
If using, pour in heavy cream for a richer sauce.
Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top. Cover and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts.
