  • 1 lb ribeye steak thinly sliced (or use deli roast beef for a shortcut)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for heat
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Step 1: Preheat And Prep
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Place the French bread halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  • Step 2: Cook the Steak And Veggies
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the onion and bell pepper, cooking until softened (about 4 minutes).
  • Add the sliced steak, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes until the steak is browned but still tender. Remove from heat.
  • Step 3: Prepare the Bread
  • In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and garlic powder.
  • Spread this mixture evenly over the cut sides of the French bread.
  • Step 4: Assemble And Bake
  • Evenly distribute the steak and veggie mixture over the bread.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella and provolone cheese on top.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Step 5: Slice And Serve
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing.
  • Serve with ranch dressing, garlic butter, or marinara sauce on the side.
