Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil divided
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth or water

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Marinate the Steak
  • In a bowl, combine sliced beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce, cornstarch, and 1 tbsp oil. Let marinate for at least 10 minutes while prepping veggies.
  • Step 2: Stir-Fry the Vegetables
  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add onions and bell peppers, stir-fry for about 3–4 minutes until crisp-tender. Remove from pan and set aside.
  • Step 3: Cook the Beef
  • In the same pan, add the marinated beef. Sear for about 3–4 minutes, until browned and mostly cooked through.
  • Add garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
  • Step 4: Add Sauce and Finish
  • Add the cooked onions and peppers back to the pan.
  • Pour in the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, black pepper, and beef broth. Stir everything together.
  • Let cook for another 2–3 minutes, until sauce thickens slightly and everything is well-coated.

Notes

  • You can substitute beef with chicken or tofu for variety.
  • Add a splash of rice vinegar or sesame oil at the end for added flavor.
  • Great over steamed jasmine rice or noodles.
