Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb 450g large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ cup fresh orange juice about 2 oranges
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water optional, for thickening
  • 1 green onion sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Prep Shrimp:
  • Pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
  • Make the Sauce:
  • In a small bowl, whisk together orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, and honey. Set aside.
  • Cook Shrimp:
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  • Sauté Garlic:
  • In the same pan, reduce heat to medium and add garlic. Sauté 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add Sauce:
  • Pour in the orange sauce. Bring to a simmer. If using cornstarch, stir it in now to thicken the sauce.
  • Combine:
  • Return shrimp to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook another 1–2 minutes.
  • Serve:
  • Garnish with green onion and sesame seeds. Serve over rice, noodles, or steamed veggies.

Notes

  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • For extra citrus, top with a squeeze of fresh lime or extra orange zest before serving.
  • Pairs well with jasmine rice or quinoa.
